This perspective drawing depicts an empty horizon framed by a wooden structure. The rafters begin to spell heave, heavy, or heaven. These words have very different meanings, suggesting an earthly existence or a spiritual realm. The presence of two vanishing points in the composition (one in the sky and one on the ground) reinforce both possibilities suggested by the word fragment.
